Love wins

Moroccan vibes with Autumn colours

With visions of a Moroccan dreamscape and a Boho marquee filled with colours, a unique team of fantastically creative suppliers brought to life the outdoor wedding shoot. Given free reign of the expansive grounds at Umberslade Farm in Tanworth-in-Arden, they filled a luxurious Sail tent with an abundance of seasonal flowers, courtesy of ever-talented West Midlands-based florist Hannah, from Bride and Bloom.

Flowers

Hannah wanted the flowers to reflect the eclectic and busy atmosphere of Morocco, and for them to play to the senses to recreate the bustle of the Moroccan streets, so she incorporated highly scented garden roses and sweet peas, mixing fresh British flowers with dried to create unusual one-off arrangements that caught the eye.

The cloud was intentionally hung quite low to have that sense of busyness and feeling connected to the elements and senses.

Dried seed pods, bracken and slim branches contrasted against the richly perfumed and opulent roses and sweet peas that cascaded down.

Styling

Envisaging earthy ochres, glorious golds, golden mustards, deep reds, and splashes of vivid orange and green, the team set about filling their blank canvas, and stylist Katie of The Vintage House That Could set to work creating the perfect backdrop for two beautiful Boho brides. Katie’s first inspiration for this scheme was the paisley tablecloths as she wanted to introduce pattern and warm colours into the Boho marquee. Introducing the pink glassware, rustic stoneware plates and rattan place-mats helped to tie it all together. The abundant flowers overflowing from the centrepieces in rich autumnal hues echoed the plant dyed runners and napkins and to finish off the table styling she used deep red hand-illustrated stationery with a traditional motif.

Shot by sought-after West Midlands wedding photographer Rosie Kelly, their mission to bring you some rustic, Boho marquee, opulent outdoor wedding inspiration sprang to life.

Our brides

Clair & Carly wore dresses by Ava May Bridal, who handpick designer dresses from across the globe. Choosing dresses in different styles complemented the worldly feeling of the shoot, and the relaxed-but-chic feel of the bohemian backdrop was set off by the stunning details in both dresses. With hair styled by Sarah Russell, who told us she wanted a down style for Carly to reflect a more relaxed Boho feel but also wanted a hint of sophistication to the look so created super soft glossy waves rather than loose curls and cocktails in hand, the girls looked perfectly at home in their exotic surroundings. Dresses were Telesto by Pronovias, a much-loved full lace backless and long sleeve bridal gown that shows off Carly’s silhouette beautifully.  And Adele by Wilderly Bride with a beautiful collar neck, showing off Carly’s back-line, and sexy leg split. This is a perfect summertime dress for an outdoor or destination wedding.

Cake & Cocktails

Cocktails were flowing courtesy of master mixologists Mix and Twist. We have set up two bar areas which would be part of the wedding day. A round rustic bar inside the marquee with overhead green hoop, and outdoor bar area to add more fun for the guests.

Stunning work of Pia from Vanilla Pod Bakery sat in all its glory atop the impressive oak circular bar/dramatic oversized rustic top table. Her show-stopping cake was so well-suited to the theme of the day.

Pia used texture, warm colours, and gold, on a classic white fondant cake, brought up to date with modern wavy natural edges on each tier. She hand-painted the wavy edges of the cake with gold details, then roughly painted the gold food colour around the base of each tier, which gave the cake a more natural Boho marquee look.

To add texture to the cake, she stencilled royal icing leaf motifs onto parts of each tier which added interest when looking at the cake up-close and finished by adding an abundance of gorgeous romantic blooms from Hannah at Bride and Bloom.

All About Marquee

A gloriously oversized rustic head table, round guest tables, oak cross-back chairs, hand-carved pallet bench sets and overhanging floral rings filled the spacious Sailcloth marquee, all courtesy of marquee hire specialists Boutique Marquees, who offer luxurious white cotton canvas Sailcloth and Petal Pole marquees for stunning events nationwide. Handcrafted in the U.K., the majestic Sailcloth was the backdrop of choice for this sumptuous setting. Lana of Boutique Marquees and Martina of Wonderful Events, who coordinated the shoot, told us the atmosphere was electric, and the Sailcloth tent, with its high peaks, swooping ridgeline, panoramic window walls and light-flooded interior, was other-worldly and alluring, providing the perfect canvas for a seriously talented collective of creative minds, and two gorgeous brides.

Wedding Ceremony

We have set up a covered area for the wedding ceremony that can take place outdoors anywhere in the UK.

This gives couples great flexibility to marry in any garden, outdoor or indoor space.

As a wedding Celebrant, Martina of Wonderful Events by Martina Paul can write and officiate tailor-made wedding ceremony anywhere. We think this is so important especially in the current climate and we feel that outdoor weddings are way forward not only for the rest of 2020 but also 2021 wedding season.
